Session 18

8-6-24
Bag of Wyrms

October 31st

The party leaves the brothel together and quietly exchange notces about Reikhar. They know together that he seems like an unsavory character who stopped coming to the brothel recently, leaving his tab open, and he has a wife who recently found out about his activities at the brothel. They agree on the best plan being to ask around for his home under the pretense of taking care of his tab. It only takes a bit of looking to find a small shop tended to by a tressym and its dwarven companion. Ophelia asks for Reikhar and the woman snorts, noting most people in this side of town have open tabs, but after a bit of prodding says she can tell them where he was, but he may not be there anymore. She also emphasizes that Reikhar's debt isn't his wife's responsibility, even if he's dead. With that said, she gives them directions to his home. On their way out Della offers the tressym a dried fish.

They move on to Reikhar's apartment. It matches the run down aesthetic of this side of town, with the building being so run down. When they finally arrive at their apartment Eden notices that the door has a deadbolt, as well as scratches around the deadbolt. Eden deduces through his investigative prowess that the scratches around the lock are from a key missing the knob. After a pause, Ophelia knocks, and moments later they hear the deadbolt slide before the door opens a crack.

A woman opens the door a crack and wants to know who is asking after her husband. As soon as the name of the tavern comes up the woman looks visibly angry, and tells them firmly she doesn't know about it or where Reikhar is. With that, she slams the door. With that dead end sealed, they consider how to go about finding him next. Without any better idea, the decide to knock on the door to the right of Ms. Ingothorn. When Ophelia knocks, the door swings open immedietely, and she's greeted by a gnome. He seems sympathetic towards Reikhar, insisting he isn't a bad guy, just kind of an idiot. There's a reluctance to his responses but he does relent and tell them Reikhar has a friend, Flinthood, who works at a factory three streets down on the left. They thank him for his help, and he asks them not to mention his name in any of their investigation going forward.

The party makes their way to the factory, but realize it may be a while before Flinthood gets out of work. They end up loitering for a while and wait to question people who come out of the factory. They approach the first weary looking man to leave the factory, but he denies being Flinthood and carries on before they can ask any follow up questions. It takes a bit of waiting but eventually a man comes out gruffly responding to his name and asks what the hell they want. They talk about their concerns with Flinthood and learn that the two are neighbors and used to be more friendly, but Reikhar drifted apart from them. When Ophelia tried to ask more about their friend group, Flinthood grew skeptical of their questions and decided to just carry on going home

It's not much, but it is enough to confirm to them that this apartment building where they all live is a good first options for them to stake out. The party takes some time to look around the building and see the best ways to climb onto the roof.

Great prismatic wyrm Gormadraug. It's dead and its body parts were scattered around the globe. Gormadraug spawned the other primodials.
